It also coordinates interaction between line functions or sector departments established or envisage provincial government training institutions, tertiary institutions, and other external service providers. The institution seeks to appoint a Panel of experienced and qualifying individuals, as Enterprise Development Practitioners in its Maritime and Econometrics Unit. Applications are invited from South African Citizens, residing in KwaZulu-Natal.   Requirements: Honours Degree in any of the following sectors: Agriculture, Forestry and Aquaculture; Manufacturing and Production; Wholesale and retail trade; Wholesale and retail trade; Utilities (Electricity, gas and water); Construction; Finance, real estate and business services; Communications, information and communication technology (ICT); Tourism and hospitality; other Services (education, health, recreation, entertainment). Driver’s License Experience:                3 years’ experience in Business Plan Development. Duration:                    2 years - Project specific. Remuneration:          DPSA Level 10 Specific Expertise:   Ability to coach and mentor effectively. Driver’s License Experience:                  Minimum 5 years’ experience in working with the SETAs as well as proof of having successfully applied and obtained  accreditation for at least one full qualification.   The Moses Kotane Institute is an entity of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government through the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), with a mandate to conduct world class research into training, skills development, and provincial strategic economic sections; and to strategically lead in innovation and maritime co-ordination  and implementation activities to respond to the needs of the provincial economy. Proposals are hereby invited from suitably qualified, professional and experienced service providers for MKI Systems’ automation, integration and digitisation. The objective of this project is to develop and implement a comprehensive, secure and integrated information management system that can adequately integrate information from different systems across MKI departments and projects. The appointed service provider will be required to provide the following services:
  • Automation of the MKI current processes.
  • Develop and/or implement the following modules: of Human Resource Management (existing system), Procurement Management (existing and requires upgrade), Travel Management (new), Financial Management (existing) and Document Management (new), learner management (existing and requires upgrade), project management (new), legal & contracts (existing and requires upgrade) and the underpinning intranet.
  • Integrate all systems used into one comprehensive and secure MKI system with underpinning architectural infrastructure.

The Moses Kotane Institute is an entity of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government through the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), with a mandate to conduct world class research into training, skills development, and provincial strategic economic sections; and to strategically lead in innovation and maritime co-ordination  and implementation activities to respond to the needs of the provincial economy. It also coordinates interaction between line functions or sector departments established or envisaged provincial government training institutions, tertiary institutions, and other external service providers. MKI invites suitable service providers to submit proposals for the construction of 3 (three) medical cannabis cultivation sites.   Background:                The Moses Kotane Institute is an entity of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government through the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), with a mandate to conduct world class research into training, skills development, and provincial strategic economic sections; and to strategically lead in innovation and maritime co-ordination  and implementation activities to respond to the needs of the provincial economy. The institution seeks to appoint experienced and qualifying individuals. Applications are invited from interested applicants who are South African Citizens, residing in KwaZulu-Natal. Successful candidates will be expected to enter into a 24-month contract and will receive a monthly stipend. Requirements:            A Degree in Information Technology and driver’s license. Applicants must be persons who are between the ages of 18-35 and unemployed residing in the following municipalities: Kokstad, UMfolozi, Bergville, eThewini, Mooi River and Uphongolo. Duties:                            Promote the Innovation at the local government level and at Start-Ups events. Develop Sector Database of local entrepreneurs. Collect Sector Information from Municipality, Clusters and Departments, Assist the community to obtain knowledge and information that enables them to implement their innovation projects, Create calendar of events on sectors: Sector workshops, Viewings of TedTalks, YouTube, Free Online Education, Trainings and Courses etc and Quarterly Lab/Accelerator Program for local innovators and entrepreneurs.   Background:                The Moses Kotane Institute is an entity of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government through the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), with a mandate of providing an internationally recognised quality research driving the economic development and innovation in the province. It does this by providing timely and accurate research to support the attainment of radically transformed, inclusive and sustainable economic growth for the province in partnerships with public and private sector. The institution is looking for interested independent and suitably qualified experts to serve on the Audit Committee of the Moses Kotane Institute. Applications are invited from South African Citizens, residing in KwaZulu-Natal. Requirements:              A relevant post-graduate or equivalent qualification with a minimum of five years’ experience in any of the following fields: Accounting/ Auditing/ Financial Management/ Risk Management or related field. The candidate should be a registered member of a professional body, with experience of serving in an Audit or Risk or Compliance Committee.  Experience in the environment regulated by the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations. Remuneration:             As per Board Remuneration Rate Duration:                      Three years. The Audit Committee will meet at least (4) four times per annum and as determined by needs on the required oversight responsibilities. Skills:                          Organisational and planning Skills, good verbal and written communication skills, computer literate at an advanced level. Flexibility. Responsibilities:          The role and responsibilities of the Audit Committee and consequently its membership will be clearly defined the Audit Committee’s Charter and will be aligned with the provisions of Chapter 3 of the Treasury Regulations and Public Sector Internal Audit Framework.
