Background: The Moses Kotane Institute (MKI) is looking to engage the services of an experienced and suitably qualified Independent Contractor who is a South African Citizen to fill the above role. Minimum Requirements: Interested candidates must have a master’s degree in Statistics or related data analytics fields at NQF Level 09 from an accredited tertiary institution. (A PhD degree will be an advantage). Minimum 5 years experience in statistics or econometrics conducting research, data analysis and reporting. Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets, with strong analytical & critical thinking skills. Must have the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Driver’s license. Core competencies:   Knowledge of statistical software packages, a basic programming language such as Python and Stata, demonstrate high attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy of work completed, good co-ordination and project management skills, ability to understand and apply specified field and/or survey research procedures and protocols, above-average oral and written communication, developing relationships, technical and professional knowledge/skills, project management skills and accuracy. Responsibilities: Brief Expected Outputs:  (inter alia): Develop research protocols, assessments, and evaluation tools, Research Project Coordination, Collect Data, Analyse Data, Design and write research proposals for project approval, Co-ordinate pilot projects/feasibility studies as and when required, Develop research standards and mentor junior researchers, Maintain, and enhance academic partnerships with academic institutions and prepare for and engage in conference papers.
