Applications are invited for the position of the Research Maritime Development Practitioner based at La Mercy. The successful applicant will be reporting to the Maritime Manager.
Background: The Moses Kotane Institute (MKI) is looking to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified South African Citizens to fill the position of a Maritime Development Practitioner. The Position will be responsible for implementation of Maritime Research and Development Programmes.
Minimum Requirements: Applicants must have a valid Honor’s degree in Maritime Studies or related NQF level 8 qualification from an accredited tertiary institution; Minimum 3 years experience in the maritime field or maritime research and/ enterprise development; A Valid driver’s license. A Master’s Degree would be an added advantage
Core competencies: Knowledge of maritime concepts, practices, and
procedures, Good co-ordination and project management skills, Ability to work independently, accurately and to problem solve; Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills, Proactive; Planning & Organising Skills. Able to read and interpret written information, especially legislation and Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and/or Project).
Responsibilities: Quality Control, Data Management and Project reporting; Undertake Enterprise Development Research Projects; Assist with writing research proposals for project approval; Assist in the processes and requirements to obtain and/or maintain programme accreditation with the relevant quality assurance bodies; Monitor the project budget and report any deviations to the unit Manager.
Terms of Appointment: The incumbent to the above position will be offered a Permanent position with remuneration at DPSA level 10.
