Background: The Moses Kotane Institute is an entity of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government through the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), with a mandate to conduct world class research into training, skills development, and provincial strategic economic sections; and to strategically lead in innovation and maritime co-ordination  and implementation activities to respond to the needs of the provincial economy. It also coordinates interaction between line functions or sector departments established or envisaged provincial government training institutions, tertiary institutions, and other external service providers. MKI generally aims to provide timely and accurate research to support the attainment of radically transformed, inclusive and sustainable economic growth for the province in partnerships with public and private sector. The institution seeks to appoint experienced and qualifying individuals,  as Independent Contractor Trainers and Mentors in its Maritime Academy.  Applications are invited from South African Citizens, residing in KwaZulu-Natal.

Requirements:  a) Dive Instructor Qualification, certified by the National Association of Underwater

Instructor (NAUI), (PADI Certification will be an added advantage)

b) Certificate in Boatbuilding/Marine Composites (Expertise in Boat Engines)

c) Bachelors Degree in Commerce/Finance (with Enterprise Development Expertise)

Experience: 5 years’ relevant experience

Duration: Project specific – to be agreed upon appointment for each project.

Specific Expertise: Boatbuilding, Diving and Enterprise Development

Skills: Training, Mentoring, Facilitation, Good Power Point Presentation Skills and Report writing.

Responsibilities: Develop structured curriculum strategy, develop lesson plans, compile facilitation reports, conduct formative assessments, supervise student projects, Support learners to compile portfolio of evidence (PoEs), co-ordinate work-site visits.
