MARITIME DEVELOPMENT: PRACTITIONER/ FACILITATOR ADVERTISEMENT REF: MDPF- 01/2019
Background:The Moses Kotane Institute is an entity of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government through the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), with a mandate to conduct world class research into training, skills development, and provincial strategic economic sections; and to strategically lead in innovation and maritime co-ordination and implementation activities to respond to the needs of the provincial economy. The institution seeks to appoint experienced and qualifying individuals in its Maritime Unit. Applications are invited from South African Citizens, residing in KwaZulu-Natal.
Requirements: An Honours Degree in Maritime/ Economics at NQF Level 08. Masters will be an added advantage.
Experience: 5 years’ experience in maritime sector development including facilitating learning programmes and 5 years’ experience in coordinating projects.

Remuneration: DPSA Level 9

Skills:Facilitation skills, knowledge of computer spreadsheet and presentations graphic user interface and an ability to conduct applied research.

Responsibilities: Coordinate maritime development projects and training, conduct awareness and outreach programmes, undertake the evaluation of maritime development programmes, and also develop and maintain tools for use in various maritime projects.
