Background:          The Moses Kotane Institute is an entity of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government through the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), with a mandate to conduct world class research into training, skills development, and provincial strategies economic sections; to strategically lead in innovation and maritime co-ordination and implementation activities to respond to the needs of the provincial economy. It also coordinates interaction between line functions or sector departments established or envisaged provincial government training institutions, tertiary institutions, and other external service providers. The institution seeks to appoint the qualifying individuals to fulfil the data collection role for the KZN Rural Horse-Riding Survey.

To this end the opportunities are extended to Unemployed South African Youth (between the ages of 18-35) who reside or come from the following Districts: Amajuba, Harry Gwala, Ugu, ILembe, King Cetshwayo, Umzinyathi, Uthukela, Zululand, Umkhanyakude and Umgungundlovu.

Requirements:        Grade 12/Matric certificate,

                                Must reside in KZN ;

                                A valid Driver’s License (obtained no less than 3 years ago), will be an added advantage;

                                Must be able to read, write and interpret English instruction,

                                Be computer literate and be able to use electronic gadgets such as tablets and smart phones. Must own a smart phone.

 Duties:                   Carry out the data collection process in accordance with all reasonable instructions given by the MKI (i.e. sampling, availing data collection device).

Duration:                The duration of the actual data collection process is envisaged to take a maximum of 5 days depending on the targeted population per district, starting from the last week of November 2020.

Remuneration:        R350.00 per day
