Background: The Moses Kotane Institute is an entity of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government through the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), with a mandate to conduct world class research into training, skills development, and provincial strategic economic sections; and to strategically lead in innovation and maritime co-ordination and implementation activities to respond to the needs of the provincial economy. The institution seeks to appoint experienced and qualifying individuals, as Independent Contractor in its Research Unit for the position of Practitioner Agronomy: Cannabis Operations. Applications are invited from South African Citizens, residing in KwaZulu-Natal.

Requirements: Honours Degree in Agriculture (NQF 8)

Experience: Experience in Plant Cultivation (Cannabis planting will be a great advantage) and farm administration.

Duration: 3 years – Project specific – Performance Agreement to be entered into upon appointment.

Responsibilities: Attend to agricultural research, advising on crop needs, development of more efficient farming practices. Advising on cannabis related farming and business operations. Generally, contribute to the commercialisation of Cannabis in KZN.
