Background: The Moses Kotane Institute is an entity of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government through the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), with a mandate of providing an internationally recognized quality research driving the economic development and innovation in the province. It does this by providing timely and accurate research to support the attainment of radically transformed, inclusive and sustainable economic growth for the province in partnerships with public and private sector. The institution is looking for the experienced and qualifying individuals to fulfill this new role.  Applications are invited from South African Citizens, residing in KwaZulu-Natal.

Requirements: Master’s Degree in Law

Experience: Admitted Attorney or Admitted Advocate with 10 years post admission experience in litigation (both formal courts and quasi-judicial forums);10 years post admission legal administration (both private and public sector); human resources management experience; conflict management experience; 5 years of which should be at managerial level and corporate governance experience including reporting to the board of directors.

Remuneration: DPSA Level 14

Skills: Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to be flexible, creative, and tolerant of ambiguity. Ability to analyse, conceptualize and implement policy. Financial acumen, awareness, and knowledge. Performance monitoring, evaluation and reporting. Sound leadership Management skills. Ability to work in cross-functional projects/teams. Excellent co-ordination and project management skills. Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and/or Project). A valid driver’s licence. professional and ethical conduct. Good interpersonal skills. Report writing

Responsibilities: Management of strategic and operational plans of the unit, corporate strategy management, provision of legal support with both private and public experience, compliance and risk management, stakeholder management and management of unit’s budget
