ECONOMICS MANAGER REF: EM- 01/2020
Background:The Moses Kotane Institute is an entity of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government through the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), with a mandate to conduct world class research into training, skills development, and provincial strategies economic sections; to strategically lead in innovation and maritime co-ordination and implementation activities to respond to the needs of the provincial economy. It also coordinates interaction between line functions or sector departments established or envisaged provincial government training institutions, tertiary institutions, and other external service providers. The institution is looking for the experienced and qualifying individuals to fulfil this new role. Applications are invited from South African Citizens, residing in KwaZulu-Natal.
Requirements: Master’s Degree in Economics. PhD will be an added advantage.
Experience: 5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities: The Manager: Economics duties, include but not limited to, Managing the implementation of sub-unit strategic and operational plans, Research and analyse economic trends and forecasts, Conduct surveys and collect data, analyse data using mathematical models and statistical techniques and software, Prepare reports, tables, and charts that present research results. Interpret and forecast market trends. Design policies or make recommendations for solving economic problems. write articles for publication in academic journals and other media sources. Management of sub-unit budget. Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships. People management.
