The Moses Kotane Institute (MKI) is looking to engage the services of an experienced and suitably qualified Independent Contractor who is a South African Citizen or holds a valid work permit to provide these services.
REQUIREMENTS
Interested candidates must have a master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science or related data analytics fields at NQF Level 09 from an accredited tertiary institution. (A PhD degree will be an advantage). Minimum 5 years experience in statistics or econometrics conducting research, data analysis and reporting. Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets, with strong analytical & critical thinking skills and versatility to work with varied datasets. Must have the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Must be in possession of a valid Driver’s license.
CORE COMPENTENCIES
Knowledge of statistical software packages, proficient in a programming language such as Stata, R or Python, etc., demonstrate high attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy of work completed, good co-ordination and project management skills, ability to understand and apply specified field and/or survey research procedures and protocols, above-average oral and written communication, developing relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Brief Expected Outputs: (inter alia): Develop research protocols, assessments, and evaluation tools, Research Project Coordination, Collect Data, Analyse Data, Design and write research proposals for project approval, Co-ordinate pilot projects/feasibility studies as and when required, Develop research standards and mentor junior researchers, Maintain, and enhance academic partnerships with academic institutions and prepare for and engage in conference papers. Collaborate with team members to translate research data into infographics.
TERMS OF ENGAGEMENT
The successful candidate will be expected to provide services as and when required for a maximum period of 9 (nine) months. The hourly rate pay will be based on DPSA Consultants fees 6-8 (B2.2)
