ADMINISTRATOR: ICT ADVERTISEMENT REF: A/ICT – 01/2020
Background:The Moses Kotane Institute is an entity of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government through the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), with a mandate to conduct world class research into training, skills development, and provincial strategic economic sections; and to strategically lead in innovation and maritime co-ordination and implementation activities to respond to the needs of the provincial economy. It also coordinates interaction between line functions or sector departments established or envisaged provincial government training institutions, tertiary institutions, and other external service providers. The institution is looking for the experienced and qualifying individuals to fulfil this new role. Applications are invited from South African Citizens, residing in KwaZulu-Natal.
Requirements: A Degree/ National Diploma in Administration with Project Management (NQF Level 7) (Information Communication Technology will be an added advantage)
Remuneration: DPSA Level 9

Experience: At least 3 years’ experience as a system/ networks or Security, Knowledge of the following equipment and systems Dell Cisco, Checkpoint, SQL, Microsoft Applications – AD, Exchange, F&P Services. MS Server OS, SQL, SCOMS, SCCM, Desktop OS, communications solutions, security components VMware, SAN, DAS, NAS.
Skills: Organisational and planning Skills, good verbal and written communication skills, computer literate at an advanced level. Flexibility. Adaptability. professional and ethical conduct. Good interpersonal skills. Report writing

Responsibilities: Administrator ICT duties, include but not limited to: ICT Technical Support Services: Resolve network, Infrastructure, and Security incidents, Provide support through resolution of incidents and collaborate requisition requirements of business, Perform maintenance assessment exercises
on networks, infrastructure and security related matters, Analyse and report on ICT Support Services: Analyse networks, infrastructure and security related problems and benchmark against best practices, Propose network, infrastructure and related security resolutions, Update the ICT knowledge database with identified problem and relevant solution, Maintenance of ICT Infrastructure: Monitor the infrastructure and security measures continuously and report deficiencies on capacity, availability and continuity, Perform infrastructural and security related maintenance and record and report any anomalies. Acquisition and Implementation of ICT Systems: Develop ICT technical and functional specifications for implementation, Assist in the refinement and development of an integrated ICT infrastructure, applications and security systems, Assist with the implement and operationalisation of ICT infrastructure and applications and security systems.
