CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: PASSPORT TO COASTAL AND MARINE TOURISM PROGRAMME
The Moses Kotane Institute (MKI) is an entity of the KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Provincial Government through the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), with a mandate to conduct world class research to respond to the needs of the provincial economy. It also coordinates interactions between line functions or sector departments established or envisaged through provincial government training institutions, tertiary institutions, and other external service providers.
MKI is calling for black owned SMMEs and black entrepreneurs seeking to enter into the coastal and marine tourism market to take part in the MKI Passport to Coastal and Marine Tourism Programme in September 2021. The Passport to Coastal and Marine Tourism Programme provides participants with knowledge about the tourism concepts, coastal and marine tourism business opportunities, and concepts of sustainable tourism.
Participants who successfully complete the Passport to Coastal and Marine Tourism Programme will receive a Certificate of Attendance from Moses Kotane Institute.
The eligibility criteria/ requirements for the program:
- Applicants must be residents of KwaZulu-Natal (proof of residence required).
- Applicants must be black as per the BBBEE eligibility classifications.
- Applicants must be interested in starting a Coastal and Marine Tourism venture post the training.
- Internet access is essential.
- Availability to participate in online discussion classes once a week is essential.
