Background: The Moses Kotane Institute is an entity of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government through the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), with a mandate to conduct world class research into training, skills development, and provincial strategic economic sections; and to strategically lead in innovation and maritime co-ordination and implementation activities to respond to the needs of the provincial economy. It also coordinates interaction between line functions or sector departments established or envisage provincial government training institutions, tertiary institutions, and other external service providers. The institution seeks to appoint Data Collectors experienced in engaging with people and experience in collecting data and information, in its Maritime & Economics Unit. Applications are invited from SA citizens, residing in KwaZulu-Natal.
Requirements: Grade 12 certificate. Valid Driver’s which is not less than 3 years. Ability to use phone or tablet Apps.
Communication: Communicating with the public in Zulu and English
Duration: 3 days
Remuneration: R350 per day
Specific Expertise: Ability to work independently
Core competencies: Good stakeholder engagement
Responsibilities: Data collection of KZN’s informal producers and businesses in accordance with all reasonable instructions given by the MKI. Collect data with the level of care, skill, competence, diligence and judgement which may be expected of a professional.
