The Moses Kotane Institute (MKI) is looking to appoint experienced and suitably qualified South African Citizens to fill positions of Research Editors. The Editors will be responsible for assisting the Accounting Officer through the delegated authority to ensure that all published research, journals, and articles are of international standards.
REQUIREMENTS: A Master’s degree obtained from an accredited tertiary institution in Language Practice, Journalism, Economic Development or any related field. Anyone in possession of other research degrees with aspects of training and development or scientific research is encouraged to apply. Currently pursuing a PHD or already in possession of a PHD in fields specified above, will be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE: A Minimum of 5 years in research-writing, editing, and publishing programs; Proven experience in editing research or publications from recognized institutions (with verifiable references); Research related work experience in a higher learning environment or has published own research; International work experience will be an added experience.
An ideal candidate must have the following professional competencies and skills: Good Verbal and Writing Skills; Good Project and Time Management Skills; Excellent Analytica skills; attention to detail and ability to meet set deadlines; Studied English as a major or First Language
DURATION & REMUNERATION: Available immediately, contract ends 30 September 2022. DPSA Consultants level 6-8.
BRIEF RESPONSIBILITIES: Proofread and design layout reports according to prescribed MKI format; Edit MKI Journal manuscripts; MKI research work (reports/papers) and other MKI written assignments that require editing; May be required to be part of the MKI Journal Editorial board; Ensure that submitted content is of research ethical standards; Consolidate and prepare comprehensive reports and manuscripts on data collected. Ensure correctness of language, grammar, punctuation, spelling and writing style.
