FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT (1x MONTH PROJECT BASED)

Background:    The Moses Kotane Institute (MKI) is conducting a research project (based in KwaZulu Natal) that requires the services of an experienced Financial Accountant who can work and deliver reports independently within the allocated timeframe.

Minimum Requirements:    BCom (Honours) in Finance/Accounting or an equivalent NQF Level 8 qualification; At least 05 years’ experience in a senior finance position in a public sector environment. Proficiency in MS Excel; Experience working with District/Local Municipalities and on Sage Evolution will be an added advantage.

Competencies:   Above average financial reporting skills; Research analysis; Displays high level of professional integrity;  Solution driven- able to react quickly and resolve issues so that the workflow can continue; Good relationship builder with strong diplomacy skills; Ability to aspire to a culture of service excellence. Capacity building. Basic research skills.

Responsibilities:  Analysing financial and other data to avail information that will assist future planning as well as decision-making; Cashflow projections; Compilation of financial documents; Performing financial calculations; Reporting on financial performance.

Terms of Appointment:           The incumbent to the above position will be offered a 01-month Independent Contractor position with remuneration based at the DPSA level 12.
