The Moses Kotane Institute (MKI) is an entity of the KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA). Its mandate is Research, Innovation Coordination and Maritime Coordination. MKI’s vision is to be an internationally recognised quality research, innovation and maritime institution driving economic development in province of KwaZulu-Natal.

MKI invites suitable service providers to submit proposals for the detailed design and construction of 3 (three) pilot rural medical cannabis cultivation sites. The site concept design will be provided to bidding service providers by the MKI at a compulsory briefing session on the 21 February 2020 at 10:00am and bids will be prepared and presented on the basis of the concept design.The Terms of Reference (TORs) are available on MKI’s website: www.moseskotaneinstitute.com.

Proposals must be emailed to tenders@moseskotane.com by 09 March 2020 at 16h30. Proposals received after the closing date will NOT be considered. MKI subscribes to the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act, 2000, (Act No.5 of 2000). There will be a three-stage evaluation process. The first stage is administrative compliance, the second is the technical evaluation and the final stage is the price and BEE evaluation. MKI reserves the right not to appoint.
