Background: The Moses Kotane Institute is an entity of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government through the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), with a mandate to conduct world class research into training, skills development, and provincial strategic economic sections; and to strategically lead in innovation and maritime co-ordination and implementation activities to respond to the needs of the provincial economy. The institution is looking for the experienced and qualifying individuals to fulfil this new role. Applications are invited from South African Citizens, residing in KwaZulu-Natal.
Requirements: BCom Degree in Accounting (NQF Level 7)
Experience: 3 years’ relevant experience and expertise in accounts processing within the Finance Unit.
Remuneration: DPSA Level 09
Duration: 12 months as may be required for specific duties – Performance Agreement to be entered into upon appointment

Responsibilities: Assist in the maintenance of accurate and real time accounting records. Process general ledger transactions and chart of accounts. Process the payments for creditors and suppliers timeously. Assist the Finance Specialist in high- level monitoring of controls including a review of the reconciliation between the general ledger and the payroll and exception reports. Processing of invoices in accordance with levels of authority and allocate expenditure to correct supplier and general ledger account on a daily basis. Assist the finance unit with filing.
