Background: The Moses Kotane Institute is an entity of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government through the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), with a mandate to conduct world class research into training, skills development, and provincial strategic economic sections; and to strategically lead in innovation and maritime co-ordination and implementation activities to respond to the needs of the provincial economy. It also coordinates interaction between line functions or sector departments established or envisaged provincial government training institutions, tertiary institutions, and other external service providers. MKI generally aims to provide timely and accurate research to support the attainment of radically transformed, inclusive and sustainable economic growth for the province in partnerships with public and private sector. The institution seeks to appoint experienced and qualifying individuals.
Applications are invited from interested applicants who are South African Citizens, residing in KwaZulu-Natal. The applicants must be in possession of a relevant 3 or 4 year Degree interested to undertake workplace experience available in our Maritime Unit. A Post Graduate qualification will be an added advantage. Successful candidates will be expected to enter into a 24 month contract and will receive a monthly stipend.
Requirements: Research experience and a Degree/Post Graduate Diploma in Maritime Studies. Applicants must be persons who are between the ages of 18-35.
Remuneration: Applicable Experiential Learner Stipend.
