Background:The Moses Kotane Institute is an entity of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government through the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), with a mandate to conduct world class research into training, skills development, and provincial strategic economic sections; and to strategically lead in innovation and maritime co-ordination and implementation activities to respond to the needs of the provincial economy. The institution seeks to appoint experienced and qualifying individuals, as Independent Contractor Researchers in its Maritime Unit.  Applications are invited from South African Citizens, residing in KwaZulu-Natal.

Requirements: A Master’s Degree in International Trade / Maritime Economics / Maritime. A PhD qualification will be an added advantage.

Experience:5 years’ relevant Research experience (compulsory)

Duration:3 years – Project specific – to be agreed upon appointment for each project.
